About Road signs

  • The long-awaited new landmark in Kyoto, the "New Wind Hall," officially opened on June 11th. The 6D design firm, founded by Akigo Kimiuno, is responsible for the logo and signage design here. The "New Air Museum" is located in Karasuma dori, Chukyo ku, Kyoto City. It was originally the Kyoto Central Telephone Bureau and was designated as the first registered cultural relic in Kyoto. It was renamed "New Air Museum" in 2001. NTT Urban Development in Japan has proposed a redevelopment plan, inviting Kengo Kuma to lead the renovation of the "New Wind Hall" and design a new building that blends with the historic street to create a lively and charming neighborhood. The "New Air Pavilion" was designed by architect Tetsuro Yoshida in the mid-1920s. Kengo Kuma Architectural Firm centered around the inner courtyard between the original and new buildings, creating an open space with a beautiful courtyard that connects the surrounding areas.
